Staying at the Best Western Burn Hall Hotel
2 DAYS | 22nd November 2026

Jump aboard for a delightfully festive break to the fabulous Castle Howard and the historic city of York. Castle Howard’s dramatic 18th-century interiors are transformed at Christmas time as The Hon. Simon and Mrs Howard decorate each room for the festive season. Lit by fireplaces and candlelight, come and marvel at the giant Christmas trees, see the spectacular display of festive ‘twigs’, and discover wonderful seasonal floral arrangements. The historic City of York really is a magical place to be at Christmastime. Home to one of the leading Christmas market events in the UK, visitors travel from all corners of the UK to experience the fine Christmas food, drink, and artisan crafts on offer. So, if you’re looking for a getaway with something a little special over the season of goodwill, then it’s worth adding our festive break to your Christmas list!
The base for our stay is the Best Western Burn Hall Hotel; once a Victorian manor house it is packed full of personality and designed with both luxury and comfort in mind. The Richardson’s Restaurant offers delightful cuisine, and the stylish Benson’s Bar is the perfect spot to unwind. All rooms are en-suite with WiFi and courtesy tray. This hotel has a lift.
SUNDAY
We depart Macclesfield calling for morning coffee en-route to Castle Howard to see it in all its Christmas glory. There will also be plenty of time for lunch and to browse the shops, all displaying a wonderful selection of gifts and decorations, including the Farm Shop where you can discover local produce and delicious food gift ideas. We depart Castle Howard and take the short journey to our hotel for a festive dinner and an evening at your leisure.

MONDAY
