The South Lakes – Kendal & Sizergh Castle

We head north making a quick coffee stop en-route to Kendal; boasting two castles, two museums, a host of historical buildings as well as an excellent selection of cafés, pubs and shops, our morning will be easily spent! After lunch we take the short journey to Sizergh Castle where over 800 years of Strickland family history await. Filled with thousands of items collected by 26 generations, there is a wonderful atmosphere as centuries-old portraits and fine furniture sit alongside modern family photographs.

We venture to Liverpool with free time in the morning, then we make our way to the Liverpool Empire and our matinee seats for ‘Lord of the Dance’. The global phenomenon that redefined Irish dance celebrates its 30th Anniversary with an extraordinary new tour. This milestone event promises to be a grand celebration of the production’s legacy, awing audiences worldwide with its captivating blend of dance, music, and storytelling. The National Arboretum in Autumn with a Cream Tea

Beginning with a coffee stop at Findern Garden Centre we then head to Alrewas and the National Arboretum. Spend the remainder of day strolling through the autumnal parkland and exploring the many moving memorials that honour those that have fallen in war. Shrewsbury with a Cruise on the River Severn

Our destination today is the beautiful town of Shrewsbury; with it’s timber-framed black and white buildings, steep narrow streets and winding alleyways, there are over 600 listed buildings including the Castle (now a regimental museum) and the world-famous Shrewsbury Abbey. After time to explore as you please and enjoy lunch, we board the Sabrina for a 45-minute boat cruise on the River Severn accompanied by refreshments as well as informative and entertaining commentary. Colours of The Cotswolds in the Fall – Broadway & Batsford Arboretum

NT Rufford Old Hall & The Scarecrow Festival

Our day out starts with a visit to Bents Garden Centre, where we call for a browse and morning coffee. Around lunchtime we take the short journey north to Rufford Old Hall; a rare Tudor survivor from the 1500s, this magnificent building displays beautiful examples of furniture, armour, tapestries and a unique carved oak screen. Later take a relaxing stroll through the Victorian and Edwardian gardens and keep an eye out for this year’s special Scarecrow event ‘Rufford Rocks: Pop stars and Music Legends’.
