‘Brief Encounter’ & Grange-over-Sands

Travelling north we call for coffee at Carnforth Station, the famous filming location for ‘Brief Encounter’. Enjoy a wander around the visitor’s centre and explore the iconic platform, then if you wish catch the train to Grange-over-Sands. Stunning scenery awaits as you cross the River Kent and there are great views of Morecambe Bay (single fare approx £6.00 payable direct on the day). Alternatively reboard the coach and travel to Grange-over-Sands where we spend the remainder of the day. With ample time for a leisurely lunch and a stroll along the prom don’t forget to admire the fabulous views over water.

Thu 9th July

The Fabulous Musical – Moulin Rouge

Having made our way to Liverpool the coach will drop us off for a morning at the famous Albert Dock, where you will have ample time for a stroll and lunch. We then board the coach to the Empire Theatre to take our seats for the wonderful Moulin Rouge. Enter a world of splendour and romance, of eye-popping excess, of glitz, grandeur and glory! RHS Bridgewater for Summer Music Sunday

See RHS Bridgewater in a whole new light and immerse yourself in the perfect blend of nature and music. Wem Sweet Pea Festival

Having called for coffee and a browse at Bridgemere Garden World, we then head to the little market town of Wem for the wonderful Sweet Pea Festival. Wem owes its famous ties with the sweet pea to Henry Eckford who first cross bred and developed the flower. A fellow of the Royal Horticultural Society, he was subsequently given the Victoria Medal of Honour of the society (entrance to the show payable on the day approx. £4.00).

Tue 21st July

Trentham Estate & Merebrook Church Flower Festival

Our morning is spent at the iconic Trentham Estate where you will have free time to explore the award-winning gardens or the fantastic array of shops. Early afternoon we head across Staffordshire to the little village of Merebrook to visit the beautiful Church Flower Festival. We complete our visit with tea/coffee and cake. (Inc. tea & cake)

A Day at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park

Yorkshire Sculpture Park is famous as both an outdoor and indoor art gallery. Showcasing work by British and international artists, from Henry Moore to Barbara Hepworth, some of the best and most dynamic sculptures are displayed for your enjoyment and ponderings. Nantwich & Wollerton Old Hall Gardens

Enjoy a morning in Nantwich on market day, with ample time for a browse and lunch. For the afternoon we take the short journey to Wollerton Old Hall Gardens; said to be one of England’s finest, the four acres of this 16th century site are richly planted with perennials and burst with horticultural design ideas.
