Blackpool for the Famous Lights

Staying at The Imperial Hotel, Blackpool

2 DAYS | 1st November 2026

Blackpool, the North’s most treasured holiday resort, comes alive with the world-famous Illuminations. A delight for first timers or seasoned visitors, what began as a mere 10,000 lights to mark Blackpool’s first royal visit in 1912 is now six miles and over one million lights of luminescent colour; a British institution, it needs little introduction. Let us do all the work and choose instead to travel at ease in the luxurious comfort of a Roy McCarthy coach, enjoy a spot of shopping and the traditional seaside fayre of fish and chips, see the lights and then return to the comfort of a nearby hotel. So don’t delay, climb aboard and join us on this wonderfully nostalgic minibreak!

Our home for our stay is the Imperial Hotel in Blackpool, an iconic building on the seafront that first opened its doors in 1867. The hotel is steeped in history and enjoys a great location within easy walking distance from all the local attractions. Combining original character with modern comforts, the stylish Palm Court Restaurant serves relaxing dinners, the terrace boast views across the Irish Sea, and the No. 10 Bar has been frequented by notable celebrities. All bedrooms are en-suite, and the hotel has a lift as well as complimentary WIFI.

SUNDAY

We depart Macclesfield in the morning calling at Oswaldtwistle Mills, so why not get that Christmas shopping started? After lunch we head to Starr Gate where we board a tram for a ride along the promenade taking us through Blackpool and Cleveleys and up to Fleetwood. From there the coach will take you the short journey to our hotel. After an early dinner we board the coach for our drive through the fabulous lights.

MONDAY

After breakfast enjoy a little free time in Blackpool for a stroll and morning coffee before we make our way to Lytham for a seaside lunch of fish, chips and mushy peas at Seafarer’s. Our next port of call is Barton Grange Garden Centre for an afternoon cuppa and to visit the farm shop before we head for home.
