A Weekend Break In Llandudno At The Tynedale

The rugged mountains of Snowdonia form the spectacular backdrop to the largest resort in Wales, beautifully situated on a magnificent crescent-shaped sandy bay and sheltered by the headlands of the Great and Little Ormes. Llandudno offers holidaymakers modern resort facilities whilst still retaining its English Edwardian appeal. You can take a stroll along the flower-lined promenade or watch the world go by on the Victorian Pier, take a walk around the shops or sample delicious cuisine in the independent eateries. Llandudno has something for everyone!

The excellent Tynedale Hotel enjoys a prominent position opposite the bandstand on the sweeping flat promenade, its central position ensuring easy access to all local facilities. With a superb lounge and a dining room, all bedrooms are also en-suite with a refreshments tray. The hotel does have a lift.

FRIDAY

We depart and call for morning coffee at Grosvenor Garden Centre. We then continue our journey to the delightful seaside village of Rhos on Sea for our lunch stop. There are lots of cafés and pubs to choose from or why not bring a picnic to enjoy whilst sat on the newly refurbished promenade? Mid-afternoon we take the short journey to Llandudno.

SATURDAY

A day for you to spend as you please in Llandudno. Be inspired by the contemporary art of the Mostyn Gallery, or experience the sights and sounds of civilian life during the Second World War at the Home Front Museum. The choice is yours!

SUNDAY

Today we journey to Anglesey and take a short photo stop at the small Welsh town with a very long name, commonly known as Llanfair PG. After time for a coffee, we continue to the seaside town of Beaumaris for a spot of lunch and a stroll along the seafront. Head to the pier and enjoy the views over the Menai Strait and Snowdonia or explore the charming streets with their picturesque cottages. There are plenty of shops to delve into and the world heritage Castle is well worth a visit. Alternatively, you can visit Plas Newydd, home to the Marquess of Anglesey. We will have time to visit the house, marvel at the Rex Whistler painting, enjoy the fabulous gardens and visit the military museum. (NT Members: Free; Non-members £14.50)

MONDAY

As we bid the Tynedale goodbye we call at St Asaph Tweedmill where you will have time to shop and have an early lunch. Our final visit is Abbeywood Gardens; enjoy an afternoon stroll in over six acres. After all that exertion, indulge in your complimentary cream tea in the café. As we head for home we aim to arrive in the Macclesfield area late afternoon/early evening.
