With visits to the seaside town of Aberystwyth, Cardigan, Picton Castle and Gardens, the Coracle Centre and the famous city of St David’s, this tour is not to be missed!

Our home for our stay is The Cliffs Hotel in Gwbert on Sea, and it enjoys peace and quiet away from the normal tourist trail, chosen specifically for its relaxing remedy to everyday life. Situated in an idyllic setting overlooking the sea with delightful cliff path walks on the doorstep, the hotel also boasts an attractive conservatory, quiet lounge, a pleasant dining room and a bar with stunning views as well as leisure facilities that include an indoor pool and spa. All bedrooms are en-suite with TV, WiFi and courtesy tea tray. The hotel has a lift to most floors.

MONDAY

We depart Macclesfield calling for coffee en-route to the pretty market town of Welshpool where we make our lunch stop. We then head across country calling for an afternoon cuppa before arriving in Cardigan Bay and our hotel.

TUESDAY

Today we head south making a quick stop on our way to Picton Castle and Gardens, one of Pembrokeshire’s finest 14th century stately homes. After our guided tour we enjoy a light lunch and then free time to stroll through the 40 acres of stunning gardens. There is everything from a walled garden to a rare plant collection.

WEDNESDAY

Calling for coffee along the way we pay a visit to St Davids, the smallest city in Britain. Named after the patron saint of Wales it is dominated by its 12th century cathedral and was a place of pilgrimage for centuries. Explore the Treasury collection and enjoy home-cooked food at The Refectory. Located in the National Park Information Centre, Oriel y Parc Gallery boasts a brilliant landscape exhibition. Alternatively head over the river to the brooding Gothic ruins of the Bishop’s Palace.

THURSDAY

This morning we visit the Coracle Centre in Cenarth; learn all about the fascinating history of the coracle (a one-person fishing boat) used in Wales for centuries. After morning coffee, we head to the ancient market town of Cardigan. With ample time for a relaxing lunch, why not visit the Castle, the Georgian Mansion, or take a stroll around the shops or craft market in the Guildhall?

FRIDAY

Taking the scenic route home, we make a coffee stop in Aberystwyth, to take in the last of the fresh coastal air. We then travel inland calling at the British Ironworks for a late lunch. Continuing north we make a quick comfort stop en-route and aim to arrive early evening.
