Staying at The Bull Hotel, Gerrards Cross

We begin our royal adventure this year with one of the official residences of His Majesty King Charles: Windsor Castle. An iconic structure, the magnificent State Rooms are furnished with some of the finest works of art from the Royal Collection. Our holiday also takes us to Buckingham Palace; to marvel at the Palace’s unrivalled interiors, including the Grand Staircase and the Throne Room. To complete our tour we visit the once home of Henry VIII and his six wives, the fabulous Hampton Court Palace. So do not hesitate, come and see some of the most famous royal sights England has to offer.

Our home for our stay is the 4* Bull Hotel situated in the charming town of Gerrards Cross. There is a pleasant restaurant and all bedrooms are en-suite with modern facilities including TV and refreshments tray. The hotel also has a lift.

SATURDAY

We depart Macclesfield in the morning calling for coffee en-route to Windsor. We spend the remainder of the day in Windsor giving you the opportunity to visit the Castle. One of the largest occupied castles in the world it has been a fortress for over 900 years. Please confirm at the time of booking if you would like to visit Windsor Castle (Cost approx. £31.00). Alternatively, why not take a browse around the shops, a stroll around Eton or a trip on the river. Late afternoon we take the short journey to Gerrards Cross and our hotel.

SUNDAY

Today we venture into London to visit the fabulous State Rooms at Buckingham Palace; forming the heart of the working palace. Our visit also includes entrance to the King’s Gallery, a distinct building located on the grounds of Buckingham Palace showcasing works from one of the world’s most important art collections, including paintings, drawings, furniture, and artifacts. Our next stop is the Royal Mews, responsible for all road travel arrangements for The King and other members of the Royal Family, whether it be a horse-drawn carriage or car. See behind the scenes at a working stable in the heart of London, and marvel at the iconic 260-year-old Gold State Coach that has been used at State occasions such as Queen Elizabeth II’s Coronation in 1953, the Platinum Jubilee in 2022 and King Charles III Coronation in 2023.

MONDAY

We begin our final day with a short drive to Hampton Court Palace, once the home of King Henry VIII, admire the Great Hall and Tudor kitchens, and discover the spectacular baroque palace built for William III and Mary II. After visiting the house there will be time to explore 60 acres of magnificent gardens and have lunch before we head for home; making a comfort stop en-route we aim to arrive mid-evening.
