Cardiff is the vibrant, cosmopolitan capital of Wales that magically combines the old with the new; its stunning castle with 2000 years of history stands a short distance away from the futuristic Millennium Stadium. The centre boasts shops and eateries galore, and the newly developed Cardiff Bay area’s red bricked buildings and old wharfs famously sit next to new piers and modern glass-fronted restaurants. Together with a trip to the internationally famous Royal Mint, there is something for everyone on this exploration of the Welsh capital.

Our base for the tour is the Leonardo Hotel, ideally situated in the heart of this magnificent city and within a five-minute walk of Cardiff Castle, the Millennium Stadium and numerous other popular attractions in the cosmopolitan centre. The hotel boasts a modern, stylish restaurant and bar, and all the bedrooms are en-suite with TV with tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel also has a lift.

SUNDAY

We depart calling for coffee en-route to Cardiff. We make a quick break for lunch and we then meet our guide for a tour by coach of this splendid city. Dinner and evening at leisure.

MONDAY

A free day for you to explore Cardiff. Why not visit one of the many museums, take a tour around the Millennium Stadium or a stroll along the waterfront. With so much to see and so much to do the choices are endless!

TUESDAY

After a leisurely breakfast we make our way to The Royal Mint for our guided tour. See behind the scenes at the world’s leading export mint, then enjoy a morning coffee and a browse of the shop. As we head for home we calling en-route at the market town of Ross on Wye for a late lunch stop. Then joining the motorway north, with a quick comfort stop along the way, we aim to arrive early evening.
