Our holiday also includes a visit to Ness Gardens, St Asaph Tweedmill, a visit to Llandudno, Conwy, Llangollen and the Welsh Food Centre. All rooms offer free Wi-Fi, a TV, and tea and coffee-making facilities.

MONDAY

We depart Macclesfield making our way to Ness Gardens for their seasonal display. We will enjoy a winter walk through the gardens and hope to spot the flower of the hour, the snowdrops. In their usual abundance they are a carpet of cover in the garden. We have time for morning coffee and lunch in the café before we continue our journey to Bodelwyddan; aiming to arrive mid-afternoon, the rest of the day is yours to settle in before dinner.

TUESDAY

Our first port of call today is St Asaph Cathedral; reputed to be the smallest ancient Cathedral in Britain it’s rich and varied history is entwined with that of warring Welsh princes. We will hear all about the magnificent architecture and stained-glass windows on our guided tour of the Cathedral and will have time to visit the tearoom for refreshments before we take the short journey to the Tweedmill. We return to the hotel early afternoon with the remainder of the day at leisure.

WEDNESDAY

Today we head to Llandudno for the day for you to spend as you please. There is always lots to see and do in this fabulous Victorian seaside resort; take a stroll along the prom, peruse the local shops, or take a trip on the tram up the Great Orme, the choice is yours!

THURSDAY

We have a leisurely start to the day today, before we make our way to the walled market town of Conwy with its delightful harbour and magnificent castle. Its well-preserved ancient walls, the most intact in Europe, enclose this beautiful town of cobbled streets and historic buildings including the smallest house in Britain. You will have plenty of time to visit the 13th century castle or Plas Mawr, a brilliant example of an Elizabethan house. Fancy a spot of shopping? There is also a wide array of independent shops and cafes.

FRIDAY

Bidding farewell to Bodelwyddan we head to the Welsh Food Centre. We call for morning coffee and a browse around the farm shop before taking the scenic route up the Conwy Valley and on to Llangollen. Once in Llangollen enjoy free time for shopping or perhaps a walk by the river, and don’t forget to grab lunch in one of the many delightful pubs, cafes and restaurants. We then head for home making a quick comfort stop en-route.
