Festive Break in Sidmouth

Staying at the Royal York and Faulkner Hotel

5 DAYS | 23rd November 2022
Why not join us on our festive break to one of our favourite destinations: Sidmouth. At all times of year beautiful, restorative, and quiet, it is an ideal place for a relaxing get away at Christmas time. In the resort you will find delightful gardens, cliff path walks, picturesque beaches, and shops that sparkle with festive joy.

Our hotel is situated on Sidmouth’s Esplanade and is perfectly located for all the resort amenities. The Royal York and Faulkner Hotel has been in the same family for over 50 years and boasts three lounges and a cocktail bar, a traditional dining room serving festive treats and a wonderful health complex. All rooms are ensuite with TV and tea trays. The hotel has a lift.

We depart Macclesfield calling for coffee enroute to Cadbury Garden Centre, where we call for lunch. A super garden centre with an excellent café, the shops are a great source of Christmas gift inspiration! We then continue on to our hotel and aim to arrive late afternoon.

A morning for you to spend at your leisure in Sidmouth. In the afternoon we will board the coach for a scenic run in part along the Jurassic Coast, and calling for afternoon tea en-route at one of the pretty villages.

Our excursion today takes us firstly to the pretty little village of Topsham, situated on the River Exe, where you will have time for a stroll and morning coffee. We then continue on to Killerton House bedecked in its Christmas finery. Festive spirit fills the house as the traditionally decorated rooms with their sumptuous garlands give a sense of the season’s celebrations over many generations. Enjoy a walk around the winter garden and moment of peace in the chapel with its decorated Christmas trees. With ample time you can visit the house, explore the grounds and grab lunch before we head back to Sidmouth.

Day at leisure in Sidmouth.

After a leisurely breakfast we depart and head for home calling for a coffee en-route to Evesham Country Park Cafe, our lunch stop. We then re-join the motorway north and aim to arrive early evening.
