Boundary Mill

Today we make our way to Boundary Mill for all those fantastic purchases that everyone has been missing! Some serious retail therapy can be easily accompanied by a relaxing coffee and a leisurely lunch. A super, bargain-bashing day out for you to enjoy at your own pace.

Sunday 5th

Llandudno or Bodnant Gardens

We call for a quick morning coffee stop en-route to Llandudno where we spend the day at leisure. Why not take a stroll along the prom, or sample the traditional seaside fare of fish and chips? Browse the shops or take the funicular railway up the Great Orme, there is so much to see and do in the lovely town of Llandudno! Alternatively spend the day at the fabulous Bodnant Gardens. National Trust property entrance not included. NT members free non-members approx. £14.00.

Tuesday 7th

Guided Tour of Lytham Hall and Lunch

We head to Dobbies Garden Centre for morning coffee and then head off to Lytham Hall, the stunning Grade I listed 18th Century Manor House. Upon arrival we have a guided tour of the Hall. We then have a light lunch followed by free time to explore the gardens and parkland, the animal hub and antique hub. (Inc. Tour of Lytham Hall and light lunch Sandwiches, scones, cake tea/coffee)

Saturday 11th

The Yorkshire Vet & The James Herriot Museum Thirsk

This morning we venture north to the pretty market town of Thirsk, centred around a bustling cobbled market square and watched over by its Victorian town clock. There will be free time to stroll around the market and have lunch before we visit The World of James Herriot Museum situated just a few minutes walk from the market square. Young and old, avid fans and complete novices, there is something for everyone at this fascinating museum that explores the world of the famous Yorkshire Vet. (ent included)

Sunday 19th

A Day in the Lakes: Rail & Sail

Calling first for coffee en-route, we make our way to Haverthwaite Railway Station. There we board the steam train for a relaxing and scenic journey to Lakeside, situated at the bottom of Lake Windemere. We then board one of the Lake Cruisers for a picturesque sail up to Bowness where we spend the remainder of the day at leisure. Why not pop along to the Beatrix Potter Exhibition, browse the local shops, or simply take in the atmosphere of this now famous tourist honeypot? (Inc. single train and boat trip)

Tuesday 21st

Portmeirion

Our scenic run takes us through the lovely Welsh countryside, calling for coffee en-route to Portmeirion. With its Riviera-inspired houses, ornamental garden and campanile, Portmeirion is a beautiful spot. We arrive in time for lunch at Castle Deudreth, where lunch can be included. Alternativly opt to spend lunch and the afternoon at leisure in this famous village, where there are several places to eat and drink. Passengers who choose to have lunch at the castle will have ample time to explore the village after lunch before heading for home.

Thursday 23rd

Holmfirth and Last of the Summer Wine Country

A relaxing and scenic day out, jump aboard as we call at Newbank Garden Centre near Upermill for morning coffee. We then continue on to the quaint little town of Holmfirth for our lunch stop and a browse around the local shops. Take time to also explore the locations made famous by the well-loved TV programme ‘Last of the Summer Wine’. We then head for home taking in the stunning views along the way.

Wednesday 29th

Stream in the Sky & Llangollen

This excursion takes us to the little Welsh town of Llangollen where we board a narrowboat for a trip on the Llangollen Canal. Join us and experience one of the most spectacular and scenic canals in Britain. Known as the ‘stream in the sky’, it travels over Thomas Telford’s famous Pontcysyllte aqueduct, 126 feet above the floor of the River Dee Valley. During our one and half hour cruise we are served a light lunch of sandwiches, bara brith tea/coffee.
