London – A Right Royal Visit

Staying at the Holiday Inn London Kensington High Street

3 DAYS | 28th August 2022

Come with us as we pay a visit to one of the most iconic buildings in the world; Buckingham Palace is not only home to HRH Queen Elizabeth II herself but is also the administrative headquarters of the Royal Household. Whether this is your first visit or your 100th, there are endless discoveries to be made at this uniquely significant institution. Our holiday also includes a trip to the famous Royal Albert Hall; celebrating its 150th Birthday last year it was opened by Queen Victoria in 1871 and named after her beloved husband Prince Albert, and is doubtless one of the most famous music and concert venues on the planet. With an additional free day at your disposal, why not head to the Tower of London, often forgotten as a 900 year old palace! Or why not try the Household Cavalry Museum? There are endless options for all interests.

Our base for the weekend is the Holiday Inn London Kensington High Street; offering airconditioned rooms with en-suite bathrooms, the Boulevard Restaurant serves breakfast and dinner and the Lounge Bar is a lovely spot for a beverage, light lunch or afternoon tea. Access to the swimming pool and modern spa facilities are also available at an additional charge.

We depart Macclesfield in the morning calling for coffee and a quick lunch en-route to London. Upon arrival in the city we make our way to Buckingham Palace to visit the fabulous State Rooms. Forming the heart of the working palace the Rooms are lavishly furnished with some of the greatest treasures from the Royal Collection. Once through the Palace you will have time for refreshments and to visit the shop before we head to the Holiday Inn and our home for the next two nights.

Today we have free time in the capital, why not extend your royal tour with a short walk to Kensington Palace, the official residence of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Alternatively visit one of the many museums, perhaps a little shopping in Harrods or why not jump on board the London Eye?

Making our way to the Royal Albert Hall we embark on a guided tour of this fascinating building. You will then have free time for lunch and a wander. Mid-afternoon we head for home calling for dinner en-route; we aim to arrive in Macclesfield in the evening.

Tour includes: 2 nights bed and breakfast; entrance to Buckingham Palace; and guided tour of the Royal Albert Hall.
