6 DAYS | 23rd May 2021

Cornwall is the most south westerly county in England and is famous for its dramatic coastline, gorgeous gardens, spectacular sandy beaches, quaint coastal towns, fishing harbours and the sparkling blue sea that encloses the majority of the county. Cornwall’s mild climate and spectacular landscape make it a popular destination for holidaymakers from home and abroad. Falmouth, our base for the tour, is Cornwall’s leading south coast resort and home to Cornwall’s maritime heritage. A flourishing port for over 400 years, today it is is a bustling town with many attractions offering something for everyone, and the perfect destination for a relaxing holiday.

An impressive 4* luxury hotel with a perfect view of an azure bay, the Royal Duchy Hotel is just yards from the safe sandy beaches and quaint alleyways of Falmouth. Set in beautifully manicured gardens the hotel has views from its spacious terrace that will take your breath away. With a wonderfully glamorous bar, we can also look forward to fine dining in the award-winning restaurant. Right by the sea the hotel boasts all the facilities you could ask for, including a heated indoor pool, spa and wellness centre. The elegantly furnished ensuite bedrooms are bright, modern and well equipped. The hotel also has a lift.
We depart Macclesfield calling for coffee en-route to Congresbury and the brilliant garden centre where we call for lunch. We then continue our journey south to Falmouth and our hotel.

This morning we visit the fabulous Trebah garden, a uniquely beautiful, 25 acre subtropical ravine garden that descends to its own beach on the beautiful Helford River. You will have free time to stroll around the garden and have morning coffee before we return to Falmouth for a leisurely afternoon.

Taking the scenic route today we head to the pretty seaside resort of Marazion for a coffee and to admire the views over to Saint Michaels Mount. We then continue to St Erth Station where we board the train for St Ives. One of the most scenic lines in Britain, the scenery is spectacular as we pass the golden sands of Hayle, Towans and Carbis Bay before arriving in St Ives. There will be time for lunch and to meander around the quaint streets before we re-board the train for the journey back to St Erth, where the coach will be waiting to take you back to Falmouth and our hotel.

A day at leisure to enjoy Falmouth. Why not take a stroll around the shops, visit the Maritime museum, take a boat trip up the river or just sit and relax in the Hotel gardens with a cocktail?

This morning we visit the Cornish Seal Sanctuary for a guided tour. The sanctuary is a charity that rescues and rehabilitates grey seal pups from around the Cornish coast. Hear about dramatic rescues and meet the seal and sea lion characters whose individual stories are brought to life during our visit. We complete our tour with morning coffee and a Cornish cream scone. We return to the hotel to spend the afternoon at leisure.

After breakfast we head for home calling en-route for coffee and lunch. We aim to arrive in the Macclesfield area early evening.

Tour includes: 5 nights Dinner bed and breakfast, train ride to St. Ives and entrance to Trebah gardens and Cornish Seal Sanctuary and cream tea.
