Springtime in Sidmouth

Staying at The Royal York and Faulkner Hotel

5 DAYS | 24th March 2020

Sidmouth is one of the most unspoilt resorts in the country and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful. Quiet and unhurried it is ideal for a relaxing getaway. In the resort you will find delightful gardens, cliff path walks, picturesque beaches, and shops that still offer the personal service and friendliness found in a country town.

Our hotel is situated on the seafront on Sidmouth’s Esplanade and is perfectly located for all the resort amenities. The Royal York and Faulkner Hotel has been in the same family for over 50 years and was the first hotel to be built in Sidmouth. Boasting three lounges and a cocktail bar, there is also a health complex with spa pool, sauna and solarium, short mat bowling and a full-size snooker table. All rooms have en suite facilities, TV, courtesy tea trays and WiFi. The hotel has a lift.

We depart Macclesfield by luxury coach calling for coffee en route to Cadbury Garden Centre where we stop for a browse and lunch. We then continue south to Sidmouth and our hotel.

Our excursion today takes us to Exmouth where we board our boat for a cruise up the River Exe with morning coffee served on board. We arrive back in Exmouth where we have time for lunch and a stroll before returning to Sidmouth for the afternoon.

Day at leisure in Sidmouth. Why not use the local bus to visit the Donkey Sanctuary or take a walk around shops? Another great visit is Connaught Gardens; just a short uphill walk from the hotel there is a fabulous tea room overlooking the sea.

This morning we take the short journey on to Seaton where we board the tram for a ride on the Seaton Tramway. The tram takes us up to Colyton Station where we have time for morning coffee before re-boarding the tram for the return journey. We then continue on to Lyme Regis where we stop for lunch, returning to the hotel mid-afternoon.

After breakfast we depart and head for home calling for coffee en route to Tewkesbury where we stop for an early lunch. We then continue our journey home to arrive in Macclesfield late afternoon/early evening.

Tour includes: 4 nights dinner, bed and breakfast, return tram ride and cruise on the river Exe with morning coffee.
