Staying at The Peninsula Hotel
7 DAYS | 28th June 2020
Back by popular demand, we head once again for a spot of Channel Island hopping, with Guernsey as our base for this adventure. The second largest of the Islands it boasts beautiful landscapes, rural calm and a mild climate. There are over 20 curving bays and beaches, miles of spectacular cliff walks and winding lanes to enjoy. The capital, St. Peter Port, is a town of narrow cobbled streets, charming independent shops and fantastic eateries. With the option of visiting the two neighbouring islands of Herm and Sark, there is so much to see and do in this wonderful part of the world!
The Peninsula Hotel is ideally situated on the north-west coast of Guernsey. There are wonderful views over Grand Havre Bay, as well as a lovely sheltered beach at the edge of private landscaped gardens. The Bar Du Nord, serves meals and beverages in a stylish setting, and the outdoor heated pool is a lovely spot to relax. Rooms are all en suite with WiFi, TV, and coffee and tea making facilities. The local bus runs from right outside the hotel giving easy access to the Island.
We depart for the short journey to Manchester Airport. We take a morning flight to Guernsey*. Upon arrival we make the trip to our hotel.
After breakfast we have a tour of the Island; calling for lunch while we are out and about, this is our chance to familiarise ourselves with all that is on offer, whilst taking in many of the pretty sights along the way.
Our tour today takes us to the Island of Herm. With a wonderful variety of natural scenery there are no cars, just a delightful coastal walk that takes you through wooded valleys, undulating grassland and beautiful beaches. There is a hotel, café and a couple of shops.
Today is a day for you to enjoy and leisure; why not explore the many coastal paths or to simply relax by the hotel pool?
Today we have the option of visiting the Island of Sark. You will find enchanting bays, caves, pools and again no cars. The only modes of transport on the island are bicycle, tractors or horse drawn carriages. (Cost not included; additional £55.00 for full day excursion to include coach transfer to quay, return ferry, horse drawn carriage ride, and tractor ride).
The last day to top up your tan or perhaps catch the local bus and do a little shopping in St. Peter Port.
Having enjoyed a morning at leisure, around lunch time we head for the airport and our flight home*. We are met at Manchester Airport by a Roy McCarthy Coach to return us to the Macclesfield area early evening.
