Sidmouth is one of the most unspoilt resorts in the country and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful. Quiet and unhurried it is ideal fora relaxing getaway. In the resort you will find delightful gardens, cliff path walks, picturesque beaches, and shops that still offer the personal service and friendliness found in a country town.

Our hotel is situated on the seafront on Sidmouth’s Esplanade and is perfectly located for all the resort amenities. The Royal York and Faulkner Hotel has been in the same family for 50 years and was the first hotel to be built in Sidmouth. The Hotel boasts three lounges, cocktail bar, health complex with spa pool, sauna and solarium, short mat bowling and a full size snooker table. All rooms have en-suite facilities, TV, telephone and courtesy tea trays.

We depart Macclesfield by luxury coach calling for coffee en-route to Cadbury Garden Centre and shopping centre where we stop for a browse and lunch. We then continue south to Sidmouth and our hotel.

Morning at leisure in Sidmouth. For the afternoon you have the option of visiting Montacute House, a masterpiece of Elizabethan Renaissance architecture and design with towering walls of glass, glow of ham stone and its surrounding gardens with its formal topiary and wobbly hedge. (National Trust property. Members free, non-members £12.00 approx.). There will be time to visit the house and café and take a stroll through the delightful spring gardens before we return to the hotel.

Firstly we venture to The Donkey Sanctuary where we have time to visit the shop, admire the donkeys and perhaps have a coffee in the tea rooms. We will then continue on to Dawlish where we will have free time for lunch. Mid-afternoon we will board the train for a scenic run along the side of the River Exe to Exeter St Davids Station where the coach will be waiting for our journey back to the hotel.

Day at leisure in Sidmouth.

After breakfast we depart for home calling for coffee en-route to Evesham Country Park where we make our lunch stop. We will then continue our journey to arrive in Macclesfield late afternoon/early evening.
