Staying at The Royal York and Faulkner Hotel
5 DAYS | 8th August 2018
Sidmouth is one of the most unspoilt resorts in the country and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful. Quiet and unhurried it is ideal for a relaxing get away. In the resort you will find delightful gardens, cliff path walks, picturesque beaches, and shops that still offer the personal service and friendliness found in a country town.
Our hotel is situated on the seafront on Sidmouth’s Esplanade and is perfectly located for all the resort amenities. The Royal York and Faulkner Hotel has been in the same family for 50 years and was the first hotel to be built in Sidmouth. The Hotel boasts three lounges, cocktail bar, health complex with spa pool, sauna and solarium, short mat bowling and a full size snooker table. All rooms have en-suite facilities, TV, telephone and courtesy tea trays.
Depart Macclesfield by luxury coach calling for coffee en-route to Puxton Park where we make our lunch stop. We then continue south to Sidmouth, we aim to arrive in time for a stroll along the sea front before dinner.
Our excursion today takes us firstly to the pretty seaside village of Beer where we stop for morning coffee and then continue on to Axminster. Thursday is market day, so take time for a browse and have lunch. Then why not visit the Axminster Museum to learn about the world famous quality carpet making.
Enjoy the morning at your leisure. This afternoon we visit Powderham Castle, located in a picturesque landscape and 600 years of family history contained within its walls. There will be free time to stroll through the castle and grounds and perhaps partake of afternoon tea before we return to the hotel.
Today is a day at leisure to spend in Sidmouth.
After breakfast we depart and head for home calling for coffee en-route to Evesham Country Park where we stop for lunch. We continue our journey home to arrive in Macclesfield late afternoon/early evening.
