Our short break gives you the opportunity to visit Bletchley Park; known as ‘Station X’ it was the centre of the World War II Enigma code-breaking operation, and is today regarded as the birthplace of modern computing and communications. We also visit the Shuttleworth Collection Airshow, with vintage motors on display, flying demonstrations, as well as aircraft from the Shuttleworth Collection. The museum and hangers will be open and there will be free access to the house for viewing and free tours around the Swiss Garden. All this together with re-enactors and a chance to chat with the pilots makes for an excellent visit.
Our base for the overnight stay is the The Bedford Swan Hotel, a traditional style hotel, situated in Bedford town centre by the side of the River Ouse. Each bedroom is equipped with free WIFI, TV and courtesy tea tray. The hotel also boasts a Roman style indoor pool, relaxing terrace bar and the River Room restaurant for breakfast and dinner.

By special request we are once again visiting the fantastic Museum of Brooklands – the birthplace of British motorsport and aviation. Many world records were set here and many aviation firsts are also associated with the site. The museum boasts a host of attractions to include a wide range of motoring and aviation exhibits, motorcycles, and bicycles as well as a unique collection of aircraft. During our short break we also visit the Transport Museum in Coventry and Nuffield Place, the home of one of the most remarkable men of the 20th century, Lord Nuffield of Morris Minor Fame.
