Blackpool for Fish & Chip Supper & Lights

Come along on a relaxing evening trip with no walking for a delicious fish and chip supper. Then sit back and enjoy the famous Blackpool Lights before we make the journey home (Inc. Fish chips and peas, tea, bread and butter).

Saturday 9th

Oswestry Apple Day & The Iron Works

Ever been to an Apple Day?! Then come aboard as we venture to the town of Oswestry to celebrate the much-loved fruit and visit the local market. There’ll be apple pressing, an apple ‘Doctor’ as well as apple goods and produce galore. And if that doesn’t tickle your fancy, the friendly town of Oswestry boasts a delightful mix of independent shops and eateries. After lunch we head to The British Iron Works to observe the Blacksmith and Silversmith at their craft, as well as Budding Delights floral design. Pay a visit to the shop and grab a delicious treat at the café too. (Entrance to The British Iron Works is free but they kindly ask for a £1.00 donation to charity.)

Wednesday 13th

Tiffany Glass & Oswaldtwistle Mill

We begin the day with a visit to the famous Mills with ample time for a browse and lunch. Around 2pm we make our way to Accrington and the Haworth Art Gallery to see the world-famous Tiffany glass collection; the largest public collection in Europe, the free admission gives you access to four rooms of Louis Comfort Tiffany’s Favrile glass vases, mosaics, and tiles in both static and interactive exhibits. Enjoy time for tea in the tearooms before we then make our return journey home.

Saturday 16th

The Welsh Highland Railway

We venture to Caernarfon calling for coffee en-route. We arrive in time for lunch and a stroll before boarding The Welsh Highland Railway for a two hour ride taking us Coast to Coast through the dramatic scenery of Snowdonia to Porthmadog. The scenery is stunning and changes all the way along as the train twists and turns through the landscape. The coach will collect you at Porthmadog for the picturesque journey home. (Inc. single train ticket)

Tuesday 19th

Autumn Time in the Cotswolds – Broadway & Batsford Arboretum

We depart making a short comfort stop en-route to the Cotswolds and Broadway where we will have time for lunch and to wander around the beautiful village. We carry on through the stunning Cotswolds countryside to Batsford Arboretum where the trees should be a riot of colour ranging from deep butter yellow to orange reds and crimsons. Friday 22nd

Autumn Colours of The Peak District Cruising on the Judith Mary

We drive through the delightful Peak District taking in the stunning colours of the countryside at this beautiful time of year. We call for coffee during the morning and then onto Whaley Bridge where we board the Judith Mary for a scenic cruise along the Peak Forest Canal. During our cruise we are served a two course lunch. Late afternoon we board the coach and head for home. (Inc. 2 course lunch)

Monday 25th

The Fabulous New Gardens – RHS Bridgewater in Autumn

We venture to the New RHS Bridgewater Gardens in Autumn. In a spectacular coup for the city of Salford, the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) have transformed the former grounds of Worsley New Hall in Salford into a stunning 154-acre garden. The site, which was once home to the third Duke of Bridgewater, and adjoins the historic Bridgewater Canal, has now become a beautiful green space for the local community and visitors to enjoy. We spend the day at the Gardens with time to wander at leisure, have lunch and to visit the shop. We head for home mid-afternoon. (Inc. entrance)

Steaming Through Wales in Autumn

We arrive at St Asaph Tweedmill in time for a little retail therapy and lunch. We then travel over the Horseshoe Pass to Llangollen where we board the steam train and enjoy the journey alongside the River Dee, offering some of the most beautiful autumnal scenery in the country.
