Monday 2nd

Derbyshire Dales

Scenic day out calling at the pretty village of Bradwell, where the local well dressing is taking place. Time to stroll through the village to admire the wells and visit the church for morning coffee. We then continue our delightful drive through Chatsworth’s grounds and onto Bakewell where we stop for lunch. Mid-afternoon we board the coach for a relaxing drive home.

Thursday 5th

Garstang Market & Lytham St Annes

In need of some retail therapy and revitalising sea air? Today we have a brilliant summertime trip calling firstly at Garstang for a full morning to visit the local market and browse the shops. For the afternoon we visit Lytham St Annes to blast off the cobwebs by the coast. Why not take a stroll along the seafront, through the park and along the pier and then perhaps treat yourself to afternoon tea in one of the many cafes?

Saturday 7th

Barnsdale Gardens

Having stopped for coffee on the way, today we head for Oakham and to Barnsdale for Geoff Hamilton’s Gardens. With 38 individual gardens in an eight acre site there is also an excellent tea room where we will have time for lunch. There is plenty to see and do whether you are a keen gardener, a beginner, or simply looking for a lovely day out. We head for home mid-afternoon and make a quick comfort stop en-route. (Inc. entrance). N.B. This excursion runs in conjunction with Rutland.

Saturday 7th

Rutland: England’s Smallest County

Today we venture to Rutland, the smallest county in England. Stopping for coffee en-route we head to Oakham where we will have time for lunch and to visit the castle or museum. We then take the short journey to Rutland Water where we have a cruise on the Rutland Belle, a 45 minute circular tour with an informative commentary all about the area. There will be time for a cuppa or an ice cream in the cafe before we head for home. (Inc. cruise). N.B. Runs in conjunction with Barnsdale Gardens.

Summer Time Surprise

Wednesday 11th

Abakhan Crafters & Conwy

Today we call firstly at Abakhan for a visit and a browse of this ‘Aladdin’s Cave’ of crafter’s shops. Having had time for a morning coffee, we then head to the quaint town of Conwy. A town rich in history, many traditional structures still line its streets and none is more prominent than the mighty 13th-century castle. With the remainder of the day in Conwy you will have ample time to enjoy a stroll by the harbourside, walk the walls, visit the castle and have lunch in one of the many cafes or pubs.

Friday 13th

The Fabulous New Gardens – RHS Bridgewater

Firstly we visit Daisy Nook Garden Centre for a browse and morning coffee. We then venture to the New RHS Bridgewater Gardens. In a spectacular coup for the city of Salford, the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) have transformed the former grounds of Worsley New Hall in Salford into a stunning 154-acre garden. The site, which was once home to the third Duke of Bridgewater, and adjoins the historic Bridgewater Canal, has now become a beautiful green space for the local community and visitors to enjoy. We spend the afternoon at the Gardens with time to wander at leisure, have an afternoon cuppa and visit the shop before we head for home. (Inc. entrance)

Sunday 15th

Scarborough & Summertime at the Seaside

Enjoy a day out to Britain’s first seaside resort, Scarborough. Today the bustling town lies between the North and South Bays, broken only by a rocky headland on which stands a reminder of its historic past, Scarborough’s Medieval Castle. In the 12th century Henry II built the stone stronghold to defend the North Sea coastline; why not pay a visit, take a stroll along the prom, take a donkey ride on the beach or even go for a paddle in the sea? The choice is yours!

Monday 16th

Lunch on the Border of the Trough of Bowland

Join us as we head to Brockholes, the wonderful wetland and woodland nature reserve, home to many rare animal and bird species that also boasts an intriguing ‘floating’ visitors centre and café. After a morning coffee and a browse we then travel on to Ferrari’s Country House Hotel for an enjoyable two course lunch. Taking the scenic route along the border of the Trough of Bowland we then make our way home. (Inc. two course lunch)

Wednesday 18th

Cruising Liverpool Bay

Join is as we explore the historic city of Liverpool from a whole new perspective! After a free morning to explore the city and to have lunch, we will then board a Mersey Ferry. During the three-hour cruise you’ll enjoy incredible scenery and learn more about the fascinating history and geography of the River Mersey and Liverpool Bay with expert commentary from a Blue Badge Guide. Take in panoramic views of the river as you sail past the Royal Seaforth Docks, New Brighton and along the Crosby Channel towards Blundell Sands and Formby. There will also be the chance to see Anthony Gormley’s statues at Crosby Beach. As we sail back we follow the journey of many cruise liners and ships, past and present. (Inc. cruise)

Saturday 21st

Nantwich for the Market & the Cheshire Lanes

An excellent day out with very little walking. We depart Macclesfield and head to the historic market town of Nantwich. You will have ample time to browse the stalls, why not also visit the church and have lunch? Early afternoon we board the coach and take the scenic run through the delightful Cheshire countryside calling for an afternoon cuppa at a garden centre.

Monday 23rd

St Asaph Tweedmill & Rhos on Sea

Firstly we venture to St Asaph and the Tweedmill for its 300 quality brand name stores; with ample choice of cafés, coffee shops, tea rooms and even a farm shop, Tweedmill is your one-stop destination for some serious retail therapy and lovely day out! Having enjoyed time for a browse and lunch we the make our way to the small seaside resort of Rhos on Sea for a stroll along the promenade and an ice cream before we head for home.

Wednesday 25th

Skipton & Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway

For the first half of our day we venture to Skipton and its brilliant market. After lunch we take the short journey to Embsay Station where we board the steam train for our nostalgic afternoon ride. We alight the train at Bolton Abbey Station where we will have a short time to visit the shop and buy an ice cream before re-boarding the train back to Embsay. (return train ticket included)

Saturday 28th

Chesterfield for the Market & the Crooked Spire

For a relaxing day out we head straight to Chesterfield where you will have the day to spend as you please; head to the local market, check out the independent shops, the museum. A beautiful building and a beautiful city that are both well worth a visit.
