Early Spring Cruise on The Judith Mary with Lunch

Together we take the scenic run to Peak Village where we will call for coffee and a browse. We continue our journey through the Chatsworth Estate which should be full of the signs of spring. Next we head to Whaley Bridge where we will board the Judith Mary for our two hour cruise along the Upper Peak Forest Canal, whist partaking in a warming two course lunch. (Inc. lunch and cruise).

Monday 9th

Crocus Special: Poulton Le Fylde and Lytham St Annes

Firstly, we call at Poulton-le-Fylde to admire St Chad’s Church and its amazing display of Crocuses. You will have time for a stroll around the bustling local market and for morning coffee. We then continue on to the pleasant seaside town of Lytham St Annes where we will have time for lunch as well as a stroll along the seafront and pier before we head for home.

Wednesday 11th

A Visit to The Dogs Trust

Heading first to the wonderful Dogs Trust in Denton, we begin with a brief introduction and follow with a one hour guided tour of this fascinating project, finishing with refreshments. We then take the short journey to the Daisy Nook Garden Centre; set within the stunning Daisy Nook Country Park, there is a contemporary café for you to enjoy lunch and a great range of products for you to peruse. Monday 16th

Wirral Wanderer with Lunch at The Boat House

Our excursion departs Macclesfield and takes us to the beautiful Wirral peninsula. We firstly make our coffee stop at Gordale Garden Centre, we then continue on to Parkgate and The Boat House, a delightful pub situated on the RSPB nature reserve and boasting magnificent views over the Dee estuary. We will have a two course lunch and then have a little free time to stroll along the riverside before we continue our scenic tour home. A relaxing day out with very little walking.

Wednesday 18th

Loughborough Bell Foundry

We call first for coffee en route at one of the churches that have bells which have been cast at the famous foundry. We then venture on to Loughborough for lunch and then to the bell foundry, the largest in the world and operational since the 14th century. There will be a guided tour around the works of the foundry and you will have time to spend in the wonderful museum with a room full of bells for you to try! (Inc. guided tour & coffee).

Tuesday 24th

Guided Tour of Port Sunlight

Today we head to Port Sunlight where we will have time for morning coffee before we meet our guide for a coach tour around this fascinating village. Afterwards you will have free time for lunch and to wander at leisure around the village. Head to the museum, the famous Lady Lever Art Gallery or the church; there will be ample time before we head for home. (Inc. guided tour).

Monday 30th

Daffodil Time at Erdigg Hall

Calling for morning coffee at Grosvenor Garden Centre we then continue on to Erdigg. A superbly restored late 17th century mansion and much-loved home, garden and 1,200-acre estate filled with the stories of a family and their servants. At this time of year, the gardens are full of spring flowers with swathes of daffodils along the banks of the canal water feature. (NT members free, non-members £13.00 approx).
