Tuesday 3rd

Tamworth & Middleton Hall

We call for coffee en-route to the historic town of Tamworth, set in the beautiful county of Staffordshire. There will be free time for a leisurely lunch and a browse before we take the short journey to Middleton Hall, where we discover over 700 years of history. The hall has been the home of many notable people and was visited by famous figures including Queen Elizabeth I. The house is brought to life during a 90 minute guided tour and is set in beautiful grounds that feature a lake, moat and walled garden. We complete the tour with cup of tea before returning home. Thursday 5th

Cruising The Manchester Ship Canal from Manchester to Liverpool

Our journey by boat on the Manchester Ship Canal starts from Salford and travels the 35 miles of the canal. We will enjoy spectacular scenery and a lively commentary along the way, telling the history of the waterway and how it has shaped Manchester and the Northwest. You will be taken through locks and bridges that have remained largely unchanged since their construction 100 years ago, and you will see some of the region’s most stunning architectural and natural sights. The coach will drop you off in Salford at the beginning of the journey, collect you in Liverpool at the end of the journey, and then return you to the Macclesfield area. There is a small café on board, but why not take a picnic with you? (Inc. cruise)

Monday 9th

Exploring the Wirral Peninsular

Join us for a relaxing day out with (very little walking) to the Wirral peninsula and to Brimstage Hall Craft Centre where we have time for morning coffee. Our lunch stop is The Boathouse, Parkgate, where we will have a two course meal. Later we take a scenic run around the Wirral peninsula. (Inc. two course lunch)

Tuesday 17th

Lunch on the Border of the Trough of Bowland

Firstly, we head to the delightful village of Whalley with its famous Abbey. After our morning coffee and a browse, we then travel on to Ferrari’s Country House Hotel for lunch. Having enjoyed a two course lunch & coffee, we then take the scenic route home along the border of the Trough of Bowland. Thursday 26th

Westmorland Explorer

Join us for a day out to the pretty little town of Appleby in Westmorland. We call for coffee en-route and on arrival in Appleby we will be met by the former Mayor for a tour of the Moot Hall, a 1596 black and white town hall. We will then have free time for a browse around the shops and there are several places for lunch. In the afternoon we take a scenic run to Settle where make a stop for an ice cream or cuppa before we head for home. (Inc. tour)
