Shrewsbury with a Boat Trip on the River Severn

Join us for a day in the beautiful town of Shrewsbury, with it’s timber-framed black and white buildings, steep narrow streets and winding alleyways. Boasting over 600 listed buildings, the Dingle Quarry Park Gardens, the castle (now a regimental museum) or the world-famous Shrewsbury Abbey, home of the fictional Brother Cadfael. There will be time to browse at your leisure before our afternoon cruise on the River Severn. We board the boat Sabrina, for a 45-minute cruise with informative and entertaining commentary. Friday 12th

Pugin’s Gem & Carsington Water

Spend the morning in the lovely Staffordshire town of Cheadle, and visit St Gile’s Church, an architectural jewel known as Pugin’s Gem. As Augustin Pugin’s own tribute to inner peace and serenity, the interior is incredibly ornate and well worth a visit! After visiting the church you will have free time for lunch and shopping at Cheadle Market, then we will take the scenic route to Carsington Water and stop to admire the scenery and possibly partake in afternoon tea.

Monday 15th

Williamson Park & Grange Over Sands

Firstly we make our way to Williamson Park where we have time for morning coffee in the Pavillion café, and to visit the Ashton Memorial or the Butterfly House (entrance £3.50). We then continue our journey to Grange Over Sands where you will have the remainder of the day giving you time to explore this quiet seaside retreat.

Saturday 20th

Ashbourne Market & Keddleston Hall

Making our way to Ashbourne for morning coffee you will then have time to explore Ashbourne and the market. We continue on to the spectacular 18th century Kedleston Hall, a wonderful neo-classical mansion framed by historic parkland. Originally designed for lavish entertaining and displaying an extensive collection of paintings, sculpture and original furnishings, Kedleston is a stunning example of the work of famous architect Robert Adam. Tuesday 23rd

Guided Tour of Port Sunlight

Today we head to Port Sunlight where we will have time for morning coffee before we meet our guide for a tour around this fascinating village. Afterwards you will have free time for lunch and to wander at leisure around the village. Why not visit the museum, the famous Lady Lever Art Gallery or the church before we head for home. Thursday 25th

The Welsh Highland Railway

Today we venture to Porthmadog calling for coffee en-route and arriving in time for lunch and a stroll. Then we board The Welsh Highland Railway for a two hour ride taking us Coast to Coast through the dramatic scenery of Snowdonia and Caernarfon. The views are stunning and change constantly as the train twists and turns through the landscape. Light refreshments are served on board and the coach will collect you at Caernarfon for the journey home. (Inc. single ticket)

Saturday 27th

The Barbara Hepworth Gallery & Yorkshire Sculpture Park

We begin our day with a visit to Wakefield with a quick coffee stop en-route to the famous Barbara Hepworth Gallery. There will be ample time to stroll around and have lunch. Our return journey takes us via the Yorkshire Sculpture Park where we stop to admire the sculptures the fantastic displays and there will be time for tea in the café before we head for home.
